Living Arte is a Melbourne based studio that creates unique handmade terrariums and kokedamas.
Terrariums were originally created by Dr. Nathaniel Ward in the 1800's to transport tropical plants from South America to Europe. Terrariums or “Wardian Cases” were very popular during the Victorian Era and are now making a well deserved comeback, as a design object.
The principle behind the terrarium is really the same principle that the whole earth runs on. The rain falls, then evaporates into the air, gathers in the clouds, and falls again. It’s the beautiful cycle of nature.
